A while back I came across this movie and wondered if anyone had seen it. I did not receive any replies. So I ordered the movie from Netflix and I watched it this evening with my mom. Although for me there wasn't any mind blowing information in it (OK, the yogurt responding to someone's thoughts was pretty wow, out there), the content of the movie is mind blowing, if that makes sense.
For years I have been developing my belief system in universal energy, oneness, love, spirit, and answers to the universal question, Who am I and how do I be in this world? I am not a perfect being by any means, but it seems that every year I am evolving my awareness of who I am, what I believe in, and how to express that to others without judging or condemning their beliefs, and also not negating my own. Again, let me say, I am not perfect at this. I am a work in progress. But what the movie, I Am, validated for me, is that I am on the right path. I AM - one with all living things -- it is a scientific fact. I Am - interconnected energetically not only to my own hard wiring (my thoughts and my emotions), but to yours, and yours, and yours. I Am - Love. I Am - Spirit. This is not just New Age "woo woo" stuff anymore. There is scientific research being done on these concepts and proving mind blowing results.
Of course, being a massage therapist and studying eastern healing arts, I have been exposed to this way of thinking to a certain extent for years. It is just good to know that western science is finally catching up with the ancient teachings of the east.
One great question the director,Tom Shadyac, asks, is "How can we change our current world?" One answer is "The Power of One". I encourage you to find your power. To commit to it and start your own revolution in your own backyard. Perhaps one day we will get this city, county, state, country, nation, world back on track by developing our natural tendencies for compassion and community. I'm going to give it my all. Are you in?
